1. Do I need an appointment or can I just walk-in?
- We always recommend making an appointment in order to assure you're able to be seen, especially if you're a new patient or it's been a while.
2. Are x-rays really necessary? My last chiropractor didn't take them.
- X-rays are necessary in most cases. Not only does this ensure you receive the proper level of care you deserve but also for your own safety. While chiropractic adjustments are safe, there are instances where extenuating circumstances could contradict chiropractic care. Some examples where x-rays would not be taken would be pregnancy and small children.
3. Once I start getting adjusted do I have to keep getting adjusted?
- For most patients maintenance care will be recommended in order to achieve the best long term health benefits (Think of it like getting your teeth cleaned - we're trying to avoid more serious health consequences) but at the end of the day it's your choice. We're not a high pressure office, we recognize individuals have different priorities and circumstances. Our responsibility is to recommend the care we believe to be most beneficial to your health but ultimately you make that decision.
4. Does getting adjusted hurt?
- In most cases the adjustment won't hurt. While everyone has different ideas of what "feels good" or "hurts" most people find getting adjusted to be enjoyable and would describe it in terms of relief. Certainly in some instances where acute pain or spasm is present the adjustment may be uncomfortable.
